🚀 Announcing "Jaspr Content"! 🚀
A new package for building CONTENT-DRIVEN SITES with MARKDOWN like documentation, blogs, or marketing pages. It comes with LOTS OF BUILT-IN STUFF like pre-made layouts, components, theming and more.
Check thread for all the amazing features ->
@kovis0 there was some visual comparison for all languages for this example, but I can't find my bookmarked link. It is always fun to see this kinda stuff.
@unclebobmartin The most CRs are not done like this anymore. Usually it is 1/4 CR time and is not too bad. (4h dev, 1h CR.)
The problem with CR is not the time, it is simply pattern matching skills of the reviewer and this misses quite a lot of stuff esp. when the code is more than 500 LoC.
LLMs Get Lost in Multi-turn Conversation
The cat is out of the bag.
Pay attention, devs.
This is one of the most common issues when building with LLMs today.
Glad there is now paper to share insights.
Here are my notes:
@d4m1n The problem is that AI can complete a task at the cost of breaking other futures. After completing the task, you should have set of test cases to check. You can easily end up with a bug that AI can’t fix anymore.
@tdfirth Everyone knows this but I think most people missed his point. People usually look for "X is bad, do Y instead" kinda advice. Here there is no immediate Y and that's something people can't handle very well.
@florinpop17 At its current form, it is only useful for CRUD web development. It doesn't work if you have novel ideas like creating a new image format which has better compression rate than AVIF. Generated code is so bad, but that doesn't matter while vibing. It needs new dev paradigms.
@unclebobmartin@devopstoolbox@dhh@ThePrimeagen It doesn't really matter whatever this guy says, there is a whole "qualified" software engineers group to judge him wrong all the time.
I guess the same people would try to fight against Plato and Sokrates if they would live in the past as well.
@theNoahKim The best result I got was in a tech stack that I am familiar with. But after every 5 commit I did refactoring round myself. Without compartmentalisation of the features, it is also growing badly. Each feature needs a new structure. (File, class, folder etc)
@bushidocodes He thinks that SQL is a text based translation layer. Top of that we use ORM which adds another translation layer. Maybe you even use another query language within that ORM and that’s another translation layer. Let’s accept that this is bad but there is no immediate change for it
@dannypostma People write this type of stuff as if something has changed. Everyone could code or create product also before. Distribution was and still is the most important factor here.
@rauchg Sorry but before that ads ruined the web. I can't read any news anymore before closing five ads. Among all these, I am okay to accepting cookies.
