I am absolutely THRILLED to announce I will be joining @UWChemE as an assistant prof starting Jan 2022. My group (located in NanoES) will work at the interface of chemistry/biology and look to engineer life for making biomolecules with enhanced function. A small thread here (1/6)
@Raeda_Anderson Favorite was math, hated science. Iโm now finishing up my BS in Chemical Engineering while a research assistant in a polymer chemistry lab.
Itโs unfortunate that this is so surprising of a response. This level of engagement is too uncommon. Is this a problem at the student level, instructor level, or higher?
Congrats to @maryokellyboit on officially beginning her journey as an @nih_nhlbi F31 Fellow! As a @UWChemE PhD Student in the DeForest lab co-advised with Chuck Murry @UWISCRM@uwpathology, Mary is creating new #biomaterials to drive cardiac regeneration after heart attack.
@TyskaLabActual @VUCellImaging@NikonInst@Yokogawa_LS Thank you for sharing your beautiful work! Have you considered a slow-motion imaging technique? Iโm curious to see what happens during the โpopโ.
Scientists @UWISCRM built a 3D human capillary model to see how malaria-infected cells obstruct tiny blood vessels. It also holds promise for studying microvascular disease from diabetes & other disorders & for regenerative research @ScienceAdvances https://t.co/IiUgfaNY2c
