The @MOH_Kenya is working on a plan to revamp @nhifkenya to refocus the insurer on primary health and to ensure that Kenyans of all walks of life can access affordable quality healthcare. Once revamped the fund will be launched as the National Social Health Insurance Fund.

Further, the CS informed that through the Kenya Kwanza Health Plan, the ministry has envisioned a chronic disease fund that will further bolster the financing for cancer interventions and stem the capital flight due to medical tourism for cancer services.
