Thirteen-year-old Jake passed away just two weeks before his 14th birthday after what his mum thought was just severe hay fever turned out to be an aggressive cancer 💔
Before he was diagnosed, Jake's mum Lynsey was giving him antihistamines before school because he had a stuffy nose and watery eyes.
She put his sheer exhaustion down to the warm summer weather and the end of the school term.
But when a swelling appeared across the bridge of his nose, an X-ray at Salisbury District Hospital revealed a mass in his nasal cavity.
Jake was diagnosed with stage 3 fusion-positive alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in July 2023.
He went through nine rounds of chemotherapy and 28 sessions of proton beam radiotherapy in London, but the cancer still spread to his lymph nodes.
When further chemotherapy caused severe seizures that placed him in intensive care, Jake made the brave decision to stop his treatment entirely.
Lynsey said he was incredibly calm about it, simply telling her, "We tried our best."
He even managed to joke that at least he wouldn't have to deal with the cost-of-living crisis.
Jake passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2024.
Before he died, he gave strict instructions for his own funeral, asking for a blue coffin and for 'Here Comes The Sun' by the Beatles to be played 💙
His final wish to his mum was that he wanted to be well-known and not forgotten.
Lynsey is now honouring that promise by joining forces with a children's cancer charity and studying radiotherapy at the University of Liverpool.
RIP Jake, you won't be forgotten 🕊️
Most of the frustration comes from hypocrisy tbh
I just find it lunacy to be so strong & be so adamant publicly only to change your opinion 180 degrees.
Of course people will question this when you’re meant to be an objective analyst.
This global grifter should not be canvassing US Politicians or Business Leaders to pressurise our democratically elected government to do anything; whatever you think of them. Nigel #Farage is a traitor to the United Kingdom.
Bellerin was knocked out here. This goal stood. Arsenal were labelled ‘soft’ and Chelsea labelled ‘clever’ and ‘winners’.
You’re a complete idiot if you think anything that happened at Old Trafford yesterday was ‘dark arts’. We’ve seen it all, for decades. From ALL CLUBS.
I really find it remarkable that the same action that saw Declan Rice receive a second yellow card and suspension doesn’t even trigger the slightest reaction from anybody nowadays. To add insult to injury it’s Chris Kavanagh officiating here too.
@KarlKeller2024 When we played 5-a-side at goals it was the same and we had to pay to play. 😂
If a Saudi billionaire said we had to resurrect Multiple Scorgasms for £300k a week net, would you do it?
The worst thing to happen to email was making it available on mobile devices.
This gave permission to use email for urgent messages, on the presumption that the recipient would check their phone every 20m.
This in turn forced people to check their phones every 20 minutes.
'It is leave - or remain, and I'm for leave'
Tory leadership hopeful @RobertJenrick says the UK must leave the European Convention on Human Rights
If UK news shows won’t call these lunatics out we must do it ourselves
If you oppose joining Russia & Belarus outside the ECHR RT
When a ridiculously soft 2nd yellow is given to send an Arsenal player off:
“Well by the letter of the law the ref is within his rights to give a 2nd yellow”
When a blatant 2nd yellow isn’t given against an Arsenal opponent:
“Well, the referee is trying to let the game flow”
Rinse and repeat
It is not that something did not happen. It is giving the maximum punishment and throwing the whole book at one team while laughing away the other team's infringements.
That is how you do corruption. Wave off calls for one team and act like a no-nonsense teacher for the other.
That list is nothing more than barbed wire to fence you into class-based norms about respectability. However, true respectability comes from your character, and it takes more than clothes to be perceived as upper-class. So who cares about such charades? Have fun with clothes.
