@MrARobbins@andyburnham I agree with all of it except number 3. We should have fewer GCSEs but more detail for the ones that are chosen. Imagine lots of 16yo students with in depth academic knowledge or actual practical work experience or both.
I would add 6. Get rid of OFSTED/publishing tables.
@celtic_jaime You are wrong, the 6 weeks holiday should be a time where parents spend time with kids, forming memories which last a lifetime. If the kids get bored, that’s more to do with your parenting than blaming the education system. Education DOES happen outside of school as well.
@JamesMelville You’re a bit late to the party. This news came out a year or so ago.
However, I do agree with the sentiment. The current ECB needs to somehow be held accountable for its decisions.
@Ed_Dorrell@bphillipsonMP I don’t doubt she is well meaning, but she was completely out of her depth, didn’t understand schools and made things much worse for students and teachers alike. Then to say that things had got better in the 2 yrs she was in post just highlights her failings.
@Headteacherchat You must be amazing so please share your interview skills…but you need to establish credibility by being great in the classroom and leading on smaller projects first. This is not a good move, more experienced staff will recognise this and may try to take advantage.
@SarahCholwill 1st,: if it’s school policy, accept it or take your child to another school where they don’t use pouches. 2nd: there is always a member of staff on a school trip, it wouldn’t be allowed to happen otherwise. 3rd: a trip is in school time so school phone policy applies.
@Headteacherchat Talk about them and all the good things you know they do. Talk about your vision, what you’d want the school to look like, etc.
Chances are, most of the staff have already Googled you so know more about you than you think!!
@adamboultonTABB Absolute rubbish. You’re not sorry for what you said, you’re sorry for people calling you out. You should be ashamed of of your words and they should probably be repeated by commentators about you when you pass on. Let’s remind people of what a nasty person you actually are.
@DavidFurones_ Let’s see, here’s just a couple of reasons:
Hydration breaks - clearly ad breaks for the US money makers and US audiences who can’t concentrate for more than 22mins.
Presidential interference - corruption at its finest.
@andy_heafield@AnnieChave@WG_RumblePants@BumbleCricket The ECB missed the boat with T20 cricket even though im pretty sure the Blast was played here before the IPL started. They tried to make money by doing something different and ruined English cricket in the process.
@Simon_Ingari HR would never do that. In fact, they’d probably make the work place harder for the employee. HR isn’t there to serve the employees, it’s there to serve the people at the top. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.
