I can't explain why this excerpt from an interview with David Lynch came to mind most when I learned that Lynch had died

[cinesthetic. @TheCinesthetic]

Let’s remember David Lynch, explaining on why he told stories the way he did.

We must not allow these images to become normalised. These are all our children.

Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home. All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.

Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow. I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya.

I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times. It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team. I am sending you all much love and gratitude for those simple acts of kindness, generosity and spirit. We are eternally grateful for them.

May I ask you all for one further kindness and allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon.

Love Si x

During the Irish Starvation (not just a famine), people died with mouths stained green from eating grass.

It took years to reach that desperation. It took Gaza mere months.

When history repeats itself, it quickens and worsens to destroy more victims faster.

Gaza doesn’t have enough food for the children. Don’t stop talking about Gaza.

Also wanna point out, that rape and sexual assault is never about sex, it's about power and opportunity.

You see that stupid girl that's comforting him, she would've fucked him 6 ways from Sunday if he wanted. But instead of going to her, he went straight to the sleeping woman..

[Mohamad Safa @mhdksafa]

If you think fertilized eggs are people but parents who've crossed the oceans with their kids aren't, stop pretending your concerns are religious.

[Elly Arrow @EllyArrow]

Innumerable shows and movies depict the explicit rape & sexual exploitation of women in a titillating manner excused through "historical accuracy" or "societal critique"

...men ought to be able to cope with a clearly fictional toy world where women are (non-violently) on top.🙄

Keenan Anderson—a 31-year-old high school teacher & father—stopped LA police for help after an accident. They instead cuffed him, pinned him, & tased him repeatedly as he begged them to stop.

Keenan died of cardiac arrest from excessive tasing.

His crime—asking police for help.

Laura Kuenssberg: Maybe social care would improve is care workers weren't struggling on £18,000 / year.

Rishi Sunak: What if we gave them a SENSE that they're being paid more?

#BBCLauraK: Would you work for £18,000?

Rishi Sunak: Look Laura! My job actually matters!!
