It's easy to point at Jillian Segal and make fun of how crazy and stupid she is, but the Albanese government is the only reason her craziness and stupidity is a problem.
The thing about Segal and all these "antisemitism advisors" they're setting up in western governments is that they're just random people with strong political opinions who are being elevated to ridiculous levels of influence. They're not experts, they're just people who happen to hold the political opinion that it should be illegal to criticize the state of Israel.
Which wouldn't normally be an issue; our society is full of individuals with terrible political opinions. The problem is that our government has selected these cartoonishly ridiculous Zionists to help shape policy in immensely consequential ways that erode the civil liberties of our nation. Our leaders are the ones to blame for these inept lunatics wielding absurd levels of influence; left to their own devices they'd just be harmless idiots. They're only harmful because they're being given the power to do harm.
After Israel occupied Gaza & the West Bank in 1967, it deported Palestinian intellectuals, educators & politicians who (peacefully) resisted Israeli domination.
In 1969, Jordan stopped allowing Israel to do this at border crossings.
So Israel started dumping Palestinians in the desert. They sent 800 Palestinians onto a virtual death march from 1969-1973.
Yusuf 'Abdullah 'Udwan was deported this way. Here's his survival testimony:
🔴 Breaking | Israeli forces carried out a deadly attack targeting a residential apartment in the Abu Al-Amin area of Sheikh Radwan. A large number of people were killed and injured at the site, which was sheltering displaced civilians.

In one of the most heartbreaking statistics, around 2,900 children in Gaza have been reported missing or forcibly disappeared since the beginning of the ongoing assault.
Israeli forces detained Palestine women’s national team player Rand Halwani, aged 20, after summoning her to a police station in occupied Jerusalem.
This incident came hours after occupation forces apprehended former national team player and journalism student at Birzeit University, Natalie Abu Daya, following a raid on her residence in Birzeit town, north of Ramallah.

My friend Hamed arrived in Italy just a short while ago. We managed to speak for a few minutes, but it was one of the hardest and most emotional conversations I have ever had.
He was telling me about things that most people would consider ordinary, yet for us in Gaza they have become distant dreams. He spoke with genuine shock about what it feels like to be safe to spend a night without expecting an explosion, a missile, or the sound of warplanes overhead. He told me that since arriving, he has not heard a single bombardment or aircraft, and for the first time in years he is not living with constant fear.
He told me about clean food, clean water, streets and buildings that are still standing. He said he did not see tents everywhere, nor the piles of rubble, garbage, and destruction that have become part of our daily reality.
He was still overwhelmed because he had seen an airport and an airplane up close for the first time in his life. Imagine reaching adulthood without ever experiencing something that millions of people take for granted. He described the smallest details to me, and each one felt like a glimpse into a completely different world.
What broke my heart the most was that he sounded sad while talking. Sad because he had made it out while we are still here. He kept saying, “I wish you were all here with me. I wish you could experience this feeling too.”
For the first time, I heard someone describe freedom not as an idea or a word, but as something real that can be felt every second. The freedom to walk without fear, to sleep without anxiety, to look at the sky without searching for warplanes.
I am incredibly happy that my friend Hamed can finally experience safety and freedom. At the same time, I feel a deep sadness that is difficult to describe, because we in Gaza have been deprived of the most basic things every human being deserves. We have been deprived of a normal life for so long that hearing about ordinary life now feels like hearing stories from another world.
Gaza is being bombed right now.
Families are dying. Children are terrified.
Speak about Gaza.
Speak about the genocide still happening.
Do not stay silent.

Normal news from South Lebanon:
An injured child bleeding and crying on the ground in front of his father and mother murdered by an Israeli drone strike on their motorcycle in Adoussiyeh, near Ghaziyeh area between Saida and Tyre.
I was just there, eating some food in my car, considering this place to be a "safe place".
This will be normalized here, but later exported to everywhere around the world, and is being done only because of the open support from the complicit west for Israel, especially USA.

I sit here with my friends almost every day. I love looking at the sea—sometimes it is calm, and other times it rages. It is deeply affected by us; it loves us just as we love it.
Today, I called my friend so we could go and sit in that spot. I don’t know what made us decide to change the place we were going to. Perhaps it was the love of someone out there that stopped fate from leading us there, because the Israeli occupation aircraft bombed the exact spot where we usually sit.
Between death and us is a very simple decision; between death and us is a single word.
This has happened to me more than 20 times, and I do not know why God chooses, every single time, for me to remain in this harsh life.
Alhamdulillah for everything
