So while farmers get punished over cow burp emissions, the greenhouse gas emissions of AI data centres have not been included in the Scottish Government’s analysis of the impact of data centres on Scotland’s climate targets, according to analysis by environmental charity APRS.
A good point raised by Chris Hinchliff MP.
“Absurdly for a country as wet as ours, we are hurtling towards a future where we are 6 billion litres of water short every year and the huge demands of tech companies AI data centres will only make that worse.”
Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.

I read a comment on this thread yesterday (no credit to me) that said…why does the male relative have enough cash to buy the child bride but not enough decency to help out financially to stop his relatives from starving. Whoever made that comment should be replacing the journalist who wrote this piece.
I was shocked at the thuggery I witnessed at the Tommy Robinson rally:
-A man struck a young girl on the head with a baseball bat and then raped her with the bat.
-Men nailed a girl's tongue to a block of wood while they raped her.
-One man used a pump to expand a girl's anus, then subjected her to gang rape by 6 men. At one point 4 men were inside her at once.
-Men burned their names into the skin of girls they raped.
-Girls were burned with boiling water, beaten with dog chains and forced to drink urine.
-One man got a 12 year old pregnant, then burned her house down, killing her, her unborn child, her disabled sister and her mother.
-A girl who'd been raped by multiple men was stabbed to death and her body dumped in a canal.
-A 15 year old girl who'd been gang raped was injected with heroin by a 50 year old man to kill her.
Oh wait - that wasn't at the Tommy Robinson rally. Those were crimes committed by predominantly Pakistani Muslim gangs, with the acquiescence of the people calling today's protesters "far-right thugs".

Roe deer are currently giving birth. They leave their kids hidden in long grass or undergrowth for several hours.
Babies haven't been abandoned and DON'T NEED RESCUING, MUM WILL RETURN.
DON'T BE TEMPTED, BACK OFF & ADMIRE AT DISTANCE 🙏🦌

No sympathy for Keir Starmer’s predicament. Over 7,000 farming, forestry and fishing businesses closed in the first year after Labour came into power. His policies have wrecked lives in rural communities and businesses. Sympathy to them but absolutely not for him.
On this day 41 years ago, 54 Bradford City supporters and two Lincoln City supporters went to a football match and never returned home.
We will never forget those who sadly lost their lives, and as always, our thoughts are with their families and the hundreds still affected by the disaster to this day.
Always in our hearts. 🎗️

Bravo, @Keir_Starmer, for getting in an Adviser on Women and Girls who thinks the definition of women and girls includes men and boys. That'll definitely win back people who believe Labour's a party for smug, lanyard-wearing, luxury-belief-espousing cultural elitists. 1/2
Forever in our hearts Seve…
15 years since his passing, we pay tribute to Seve today, a legend of the Ryder Cup and an icon of our game. Great seeing all European players around the world on all the different tours wearing navy and white in his honour.

Don’t go chasing waterfalls...cautiously approach and be careful of slippery conditions. In fact, you may just want to stick to the rivers and lakes that you’re used to.
There is a region in southeastern Spain called Almería. If you pull it up on satellite imagery, you will assume the screen has glitched. A vast, blinding white scab where a landscape used to be.
It's not a glitch. It's 64,000 acres of plastic greenhouses. So much plastic sheeting that it is, genuinely, visible from space. The entire region has been wrapped in industrial farming film to grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and lettuce for European supermarkets in January.
The plastic has created its own microclimate. The reflective surface is so vast it has measurably lowered local temperatures by bouncing sunlight back into the atmosphere. Scientists have a name for it. The Albedo effect of Almería. The only place on earth where human activity has cooled the local climate, and they did it by accident, while building the world's largest open-air plastic factory.
The plastic itself is single-use agricultural film. It sits in UV light for three to five years, degrades into microplastics, blows into the Mediterranean, and ends up in the ocean and the soil. Every year, 45,000 tonnes of plastic waste is generated just from replacing degraded greenhouse covering. Every year. Just the covering.
Inside, workers from Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa labour in 45°C heat for €30 a day. No contracts. No rights. Spraying crops with pesticides at concentrations that would be illegal on outdoor fields. Ventilation: minimal. Chemical exposure: constant. The aubergine looks lovely.
The groundwater underneath Almería is so contaminated with agricultural runoff that it has been declared unusable. The region now imports water from elsewhere in Spain while sitting on top of a poisoned aquifer it created. The land that was meant to feed Europe more efficiently has become a place that needs water flown in to keep the show running.
And this is what supplies your fresh vegetables in January. Grown in plastic factories. By exploited workers. Using groundwater they have already destroyed. Wrapped in more plastic. Shipped across Europe. Refrigerated the whole way. So a person in Manchester can have a tomato in February that tastes of nothing.
But sure. Cattle grazing on Scottish hills are the environmental problem.
Pull the satellite up. Have a look. Then tell me which system is the one that needs explaining.
Chelsea managers sacked by Toad Boehly and Co
Thomas Tuchel: Dismissed for refusing to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. Now England manager at World Cup
Graham Potter: Sacked after taking Chelsea to quarter finals of Champions League. Now Sweden manager at World Cup
Frank Lampard: Interim manager, has just taken Coventry City to Premier League for first time since 2001.
Maurichio Pochettino: Sacked after arguing with Chelsea’s 263 Directors of Football and a 6th place finish. Now USA manager at World Cup.
Enzo Maresca: Sacked after winning Club World Cup, UEFA Conference League and top four finish. Currently enjoying his payoff and favourite to replace Pep if he leaves City this summer.
Liam Rosenior; Sacked after four months.
The common issue is that it’s Boehly (former Sporting Director of Soccerball at Chelsea) and Egbali making these decisions.
Perhaps, just perhaps, turning Chelsea into a hedge fund experiment isn’t a good idea. Who wants to be the footballing equivalent of Married at First Sight?
Who appointed Graham Potter? Why did Mauricio Pochetinno & Enzo Maresca not want to stay? Who appointed Liam Rosenior? Who's murdering my club?
