@sunraysunray Middle class Americans also need to understand that their taxes will go WAY up to pay for those. Then support for these programs plummet.
@JakeLiscow@44Meez@JoeGoodberry A lot of that graph is small sample size. A few dozen picks. And there's so much variability/chance. Tipped balls, receivers fall/run the wrong route, etc...
@SashaGusevPosts If this is the case, why don't the vast majority just trying to do the Lord's work of finding the truth tell the loudmouth activists to pipe down and get back to doing their jobs? Silence is violence, or so we've been lectured to.
@Tyler_Menzer@asymmetricinfo A lot of what the public got mad about is random academics spouting off "I'm an expert in 'x' therefore you should listen to my about 'y' and if you don't you're racist/homophobic/xenophobic etc..." Public got sick of it.
@dburbach@SeanTrende Sure. If I was in a pretty narrow field (i.e. anthropology) and there was a clear org representing my profession, I'd be pretty interested if that org was led by activists spouting insane nonsense that can paint the whole field poorly.
@SeanTrende@BrandonWarmke Clown nose on, clown nose off. Academic: "Look, we're experts. We know of what we speak." Same academic: "Stop nutpicking rando profs."
@iowahawkblog I get the Pac 10 was in hospice with cancer but the B1G put the pillow over their face. The Pac 10 big 4 were leaving no matter what so I guess B1G was as good a spot as any.
@iowahawkblog Interesting. I didn't like the B1G murdering the Pac 10 in their sleep. I get why it happened but would rather have kept them as is. I know, old man yells at clouds.
