More people have climbed Mt. Everest than flown the SR 71.
They are an extraordinary group of men. Only 86 pilots and 86 Reconnaissance Systems Operators (RSOs) have flown the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird strategic reconnaissance aircraft, or “Habu,” on operational missions. That is fewer than the number of U.S. astronauts who have orbited the Earth. Habu’s are not Astronauts, but in the early days, they did have to pass the Astronaut medical testing in Houston, Texas.
The same one they gave to the men who first walked on the moon.~Linda Sheffield ( Butch Sheffield is in row three, second man from the left)
Albert Einstein kept a photo of Maxwell on his study wall, alongside pictures of Michael Faraday and Isaac Newton. He referred to Maxwell's work as the "most profound and the most fruitful that physics has experienced since the time of Newton."
Maxwell's equations were integral to the development of Einstein's theory of special relativity.
Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon where two or more particles become correlated in such a way that the state of one instantly influences the state of the other, regardless of the distance between them.
It challenges classical notions of locality and lies at the heart of quantum information science.
Nearly a decade after the foundation of special relativity, Albert Einstein submitted his paper 'The Field Equations of Gravitation' for publication #OnThisDay in 1915, which gave the correct field equations for the theory of general relativity.
In actual fact, the German mathematician David Hilbert had submitted an article containing the correct field equations for general relativity five days before Einstein. Hilbert never claimed priority for this theory.

High-precision test of general relativity by the Cassini space probe (artist's impression): radio signals sent between the Earth and the probe (green wave) are delayed by the warping of spacetime (blue lines) due to the Sun's mass.
The three most-tracked flights right now: two Boeing B-52H Stratofortress bombers and a Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules, all heading south over the Americas.
Did you know that according to Flight Global Magazine’s 2025 report, the USAF currently has 130 strategic bombers in active service? That's the combined total of all B-52s, B-1s, and B-2s. It still makes the United States the world’s largest strategic bomber operator, but it is a far cry from the time when SAC alone fielded more than 600+ B-52s (b/w 1962-64). Imagine 600 BUFFs!
