@_chenglou made pretext 5 days ago.
To see how powerful it was, I used it to build a multiplayer game. It's like https://t.co/3LaUJ4nIqr but in a sea of Pretext words.
This would not've been possible without pretext. But with it, it was a 3 day build all-in.
My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces):
I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept):
Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow
Hey Matt, amazing post.
I’ve read here and there about a few different mechanisms that I’d love your thoughts on:
- The idea of a “sun callous”; becoming better adapted to the sun and burning less easily by spending more time in low UV sun earlier in the season before summer hits
- Similarly, spending time in the early morning sun if you intend on getting peak UV sun later
- The importance of not wearing sunglasses to prevent burns
I read some post a while back about someone with fitz type 1 skin who was spending WAY more time than you listed in the chart in the sun without getting burned because they followed the above and had a “thick sun callous”.
Any thoughts there?
Today we're launching @soffi_dev.
I spent most of my career shaping products but relying on others to build them. Then AI changed that.
Soffi lets designers and PMs work directly on real, deployed software alongside engineers.
Not mockups. Not prototypes. The actual product.
Your AI agent can now generate and ship videos.
HeyGen CLI is now live.
Run one command and your agent handles it all:
script → avatar creation → video → delivery
All from the terminal. Just your agent and the CLI.
RT + Comment “CLI” and we’ll DM API credits (must follow)

crazy that in 2026 you can casually create products that teams have spent hundreds of hours on in the past
