Saddened to see the ashes of what was a Children Home hosted by @KenyaRedCross Embu Branch.

The home has been a place of refuge & comfort for thousands of children with disabilities since 1974.

Deeply Saddened. Glad no lives lost.

Last evening, we received a distress call about a pickup truck carrying passengers swept away by flooding in Benedicta, #Utawala.

Our responders acted swiftly, deploying teams to the scene. Through the combined efforts of the Nairobi Fire Brigade,@savagekenya and local community members, all occupants were successfully rescued.

Additionally, another team was dispatched to Njiru, rescuing 21 individuals, along with a dog and a cat. Meanwhile, a separate team rescued 10 people from the flooded Kanani Estate in Katana.

Six people have been rescued after a pickup truck ferrying people was swept away by raging waters at Benedicta in Utawala, Nairobi County.
