Awaran #Balochistan today on 12 Dec 25 Pakistani security forces reportedly fired multiple mortar shells on the civilian population in #Awaran main Bazar on #Friday, injuring at least seven people, including women and children.
Local sources say the attack created widespread panic in the area, with several of the wounded in critical condition. Residents allege that Pakistani & international media @BBCUrdu is not reporting the incident, while international human rights organisations have not been allowed access to verify the situation on the ground.
#Pakistan’s ongoing campaign of violence and systematic abuses against the Baloch population.

The Pakistani Army's brutality in Balochistan was insidious for years until Dr. Mahrang, her companions & BYC brought it to the international human rights arena. So the Army sees them as a major threat: they are exposing the state's brutality & Baloch genocide. #ReleaseBYCleaders
For the past 21 days, family members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee and Baloch missing persons have been staging a relentless sit-in in Islamabad. Despite threats, harassment, pressure, and countless obstacles, they remain unmoved, holding their ground with extraordinary courage.
Their demand is simple: justice and the safe return of their loved ones.
Meanwhile, in front of the Karachi Press Club, another heart-wrenching protest is taking place. The family of Zahid Ali, a 25-year-old student of International Relations from Lyari, Karachi, is calling for his release. Zahid was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on July 17, 2025.
A bright student who drove a rickshaw part-time to support his ailing father and fund his education, Zahid’s only crime was his Baloch identity.
In Balochistan, it is part of a horrifying pattern. Thousands have been forcibly disappeared. Hundreds have been extrajudicially killed. Mass graves filled with mutilated and unidentifiable bodies bear witness to a campaign of silence and suppression.
And then the Pakistani media call us terrorists!

The worst thing about invisible power is how it distorts people's perception of the world & their place in it. People may come to believe they are less important or that the way things are is natural or unchangeable, even if it's unfair, & inequality perpetuates, John Gaventa.
