Meet our volunteer #EvoBioCCTeam! Today we introduce Sergio González-Mollinedo (@BiologComunista). Sergio is the founder of #EvoBioCC & a herpetologist at heart. He is a first-year PhD student working on the genomics of inbreeding depression at the University of Groningen.
We believe that mentorship with representation can go a long way ✨️ We're looking for students AMD mentors to continue with our #EvoBioMentoring program. Go to https://t.co/E619SLBUNu to learn more on how to apply. We're excited to have you 💚🤝🏽
Probably one of the most annoying obstacles keeping Global South students out from #EvoBio are all the expenses that pile up during the application process. We feel you. We've been there. That's why we created the #EvoBioMGP to help relief those expenses 💸

Last summer we held the first edition of our Evolutionary Biology Crash Course #EvoBioCC & it was a huge success! Why do we do it? Simply put, representation matters! We want to help young students from the Global South achieve a better understanding of & access to #EvoBio.
Hello World! Long time, no tweet! We've been working hard behind the scenes here at the #EvoBio crash course team! We are thrilled to share our updated website: https://t.co/E619SLBUNu filled with new opportunities! Stay tuned for exciting updates & remember to share! #EvoBioCC

We know students from the Global South have extra hurdles to clear in their way to a career in Evolutionary Biology. One of those is an English language requirement that has to be demonstrated by exams like TOEFL or IELTS. Not everyone can actually afford them.
Mark your calendars! This time next year, SMBE's annual conference will be in person in Ferrara, Italy on July 23-27! We look forward to seeing you and hearing about your science in a beautiful and historic setting! @OfficialSMBE
