🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a 22-year-old who runs into BURNING BUILDINGS as a volunteer firefighter was told he isn't qualified to be a paid firefighter...

...because he was HOMESCHOOLED.

Then the city changed the job posting to cover it up.

His name is Andrew Coates. He's 22 years old, in Nebraska.

Right now, today, he runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT.

He is doing the job. For free.

All he wanted was to get PAID to do it. In his words: "Make a career out of it would be the goal. To get paid to do what you love."

So he applied to the Fremont Fire Department.

And in April, the city rejected him. Why?

Because his high school diploma says he was homeschooled.

That's it. That's the whole disqualification.

Not his EMT license.
Not his fitness.
Not his record.
Not his experience pulling people out of fires ALREADY!!

...how he was educated.

The job posting he applied to said "graduation from high school."

That's all it said.
He graduated high school.
He has a diploma.

And AFTER they rejected him, the city went back and added the word "accredited" to the job description.

His own fire chief, the man who has watched Andrew work, showed up to defend him:

"I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here, and in my mind, because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him."

Over THIRTY homeschool families showed up to stand behind this kid.

And the Civil Service Commission? They said it isn't their job to touch city policy.

Homeschoolers are literally a generation of kids who read ABOVE grade level, who work with their HANDS, who volunteer in their communities, who show up for their neighbors.

And this young man is the proof.

At 22, he's a certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, while plenty of his peers are on a couch.

When your house is on fire at 3 a.m., I promise you will not ask the man dragging your children out where he went to high school.

You will not ask if his diploma was accredited.

You will thank GOD he came.

Andrew isn't even fighting for himself anymore. His words:

"I think now it's turned into we want to make sure that every homeschooler has an equal opportunity."

That's a better man than the policy that rejected him.

Fremont, you have a licensed EMT and an active firefighter begging to serve your city. And you turned him down over paperwork, then rewrote the paperwork to cover it.

Fix this.

Okay.

When you mention your age, do you ever stop and think about what that age is supposed to represent?

You're not a teenager anymore.

You're not 21 and figuring out how the world works.

You're 50.

60.

61.

62.

At some point, AGE is supposed to come with WISDOM.

Have you taken the time to understand how your government actually works?

What the President controls?

What Congress controls?

What the House can do?

What the Senate can do?

How many votes legislation requires?

What the courts can stop?

What individual members of Congress can and CANNOT accomplish?

Or do you just look around, get angry that everything you wanted hasn't happened fast enough and decide:

"SCREW IT. I'M STAYING HOME."

And then announce it publicly like you've just revealed some profound political strategy.

Have you ever stopped and thought:

"Maybe this post is dumb?"

Seriously.

Because when you're 60, 70 or 80 years old, you carry another responsibility.

There are younger Americans watching you.

Your children.

Your grandchildren.

People in your church.

People in your community.

People who haven't lived through what you've lived through.

YOU are supposed to be transferring knowledge to THEM.

You're supposed to be able to explain what worked.

What failed.

What mistakes your generation made.

How government actually functions.

How political power is gained.

How political power is lost.

And how younger generations can make BETTER decisions than your generation did.

Instead, some of you are basically saying:

"I've been participating in this system for 40 or 50 years. I didn't get everything I wanted, so now I'm taking my ball and going home."

WHAT? 😂

You're allowed to be angry.

You're allowed to be disappointed.

You're allowed to criticize Congress.

You're allowed to criticize Republicans.

You're allowed to demand MORE from the people you elected.

In fact, YOU SHOULD.

But frustration is not a substitute for understanding how the system works.

If you're going to announce your age as evidence that you've seen enough to know better...

THEN KNOW BETTER.

You're 50, 60, 70 or 80 years old.

You've lived through Presidents.

Recessions.

Wars.

Inflation.

Political scandals.

Booms.

Crashes.

Republican governments.

Democratic governments.

Decades of American history.

That experience should produce WISDOM.

And wisdom should be passed DOWN.

Not wasted.

The younger generation already has TikTok, algorithms, influencers, propaganda, AI-generated garbage and 30-second clips trying to teach them how the world works.

They need grandparents and parents who actually understand the system.

So before posting:

"I'M SITTING THIS ONE OUT."

Maybe sit down first.

Think.

Read.

Understand the consequences of participating AND not participating.

Then make your decision.

You're the elder generation.

ACT LIKE IT.
