Finally, I used @ches_data to calculate the weighted average ideological positions of the EP party-groups on the Left-Right and Pro-Anti EU dimensions
- Some notable stability (EPP, S&D)
- Some decreasing polarization on EU-dimension
- Far-right groups drift further to the right

25 years of @ches_data show that European party positions are rather stable on all major dimensions (some movement is lost through aggregation and expert persistence). The striking change - and the story of our time - is the electoral decline of mainstream parties (bottom left)
