🚨 Vibgyor High School Road, Panathur–Thubarahalli: A Traffic Disaster Waiting to Get Worse 🚧⚠️

These 3 G-maps tell the story better than words.

A stretch of barely 1.5–2 km on Vibgyor High School Road is routinely taking commuters 25–30 minutes to cross during peak hours. The first half alone consumes nearly 13 minutes, while the second half takes another 12 minutes, turning a short drive into an exhausting daily ordeal.

What's even more alarming is that this is no longer just a congestion issue- it's becoming a serious road safety crisis.

⚠️ Encroachments and bottlenecks
⚠️ Weak or inconsistent traffic enforcement
⚠️ Unfinished road-leveling work on a critical ~100-meter stretch

Despite repeated complaints from residents and commuters, there has been little visible progress. The pending road-leveling work remains incomplete, and there has been no meaningful update from GBA officials on timelines or corrective action.

This corridor serves thousands of residents, school buses, office commuters, emergency vehicles, and public transport users every single day. Yet commuters continue to face gridlock, unsafe driving conditions, and avoidable delays.

📢 We urge:
✅ Bengaluru Traffic Police to deploy strict enforcement and lane management measures immediately.
✅ GBA and concerned authorities to expedite the pending road-leveling and bottleneck-removal work.
✅ GBA officials to publicly share timelines, progress updates, and accountability measures for this stretch.

The people of Panathur, Gunjur, Balagere, and Varthur cannot be expected to normalize spending half an hour to travel less than two kilometres.

Enough studies. Enough delays. This stretch needs immediate intervention before it claims more time, productivity, and lives.

BSWML has managed to complicate not just Solid Waste Management, but now even the GBA/BBMP property tax portal. #EaseOfLiving

A simple property tax payment is turning into a confusing exercise due to poorly designed SWM user fee questions and unclear data requirements.

There is no per-house waste weighment system, so all entries are merely estimates. And the framework imposes discriminatory charges on apartment communities that already segregate and compost their waste.

Fix the SWM framework first—don’t make compliance harder for citizens.

We seek urgent intervention from the Chief Commissioner, GBA.

While Sun was transiting to Makar Rashi on Makar Shankranthi, Tejaveera Bharateeyaru day started with meeting Senior Volunteers of Varthur Lake who had dedicated years together to research, revive and stop pollution in the #varthur lake. Humbled to meet them, a new chapter has started .

Please understand urbanisation is not having high rise buildings, tech parks and pubs. Unless the Vaayu, Bhoomi and Jal is taken care and protected, your existence itself will become a curse to the planet and eventually which affects you. On this front @KannadaRepublic has covered the varthur lake issue.
#IISC professor Ramachandra and team has put lot of efforts to identify what happens when industry wastes and sewage is let out into the lakes.
Have attached small image on how vegetables contain heavy metals grown on the banks of polluted water bodies. This research paper is from #IISC professor. Please wake up.... One of the reason for neurological diseases are because of heavy metals.

THE HELL TAX PAYERS MUST GO THROUGH WHEN THERE IS NO CDP ROAD AS PER THE PLANS on #IT CORRIDOR. Panathur S Cross widening being band aid for the current traffic chaos, 150ft CDP road has become a dream now, why there is no work on something which is part of RMP 2015. In September 2024, tender was called for ROB VIA DUCT, there was no progress on that,again in May 2025 they have called tender to prepare DPR and we dont see any progress. BANGALORE TOWN PLANNING MUST BE COMPLETELY INVESTIGATED FOR APPROVING PROJECTS MINDLESSLY WITHOUT CONSIDERING FAR RATIO NEITHER THEY LOOK AT EXISTING INFRA TO APPROVE SUCH HIGH RISE PROJECTS, TECH PARKS AND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS.
