Excited to announce we have finished recruiting for Andromeda-VEXUS, the largest, multi-center, multi-continent (4 continents!) #POCUS study in the world!!

HUGE thanks to our physician partners, collaborators, investigators, and most importantly patients and families.

With over 400 patients recruited we will be able to understand the relationship between venous congestion and outcomes for patients with septic shock.

Some of the questions we intend to answer:

1. What venous congestion parameters are associated with adverse outcomes?

2. What are the thresholds of congestion that predict organ injury in septic shock?

3. What is the relationship between venous congestion and other cardiac parameters in septic shock?

4. What is the relationship between venous congestion and micro-circulatory function?

5. How does resuscitation received early in septic shock impact venous congestion?

6. Can we simplify the VeXUS score (omit parts) and maintain equal predictive accuracy?

7. How can we view hepatic vein Doppler in a more 'continuous' fashion (e.g. hepatic venous stasis index).

8. How did our onboarding process impact quality of scans for centers?
