The governments of Iceland, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden have pooled up funds worth $50 million for Strengthening Adolescents and Youth Rights and Empowerment across 13 districts within five sub-regions in Uganda. The initiative that will be monitored by the Ministry of Health and UNFPA aims at providing targeted assistance to regional referral hospitals in Jinja, Mbale, Moroto, Yumbe, Arua, and Gulu to provide Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), strengthen adolescent and youth rights, empowerment, protection and access to quality health services.

Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, along with provincial MECs and HODs of Health in collaboration with SANAC and other stakeholders, will on Tuesday, 25 February in Soweto, officially launch a national campaign to address HIV treatment enrolment gaps in the country.
U.S. leadership has helped ensure ¾ of people living with HIV globally have access to treatment, AIDS-related deaths have halved since 2010, and 84% of pregnant women have access to treatment.
