At such scale, it’s very profitable to shave a few seconds off each order.

Per Bloomberg, Starbucks would make an extra ~$900m a year if each store served 5 extra patrons per day.

That’s why Starbucks is spending $450m on a new bar setup called Siren System (video below), where the key ingredients — dairy, pumps, caffeine, ice — are placed in a new optimized counter.

@ScottKeohane @girdley @AlamoFireworks We used one last night for our finale, sequenced 6 fountains, 3 mortars, and 2 ground effects stuff. Was awesome to just sit and watch and everyone was safe from not having to light them. I’d say a solid investment if you want a show, not good for individual one off fireworks.

@Valenti93051124 @inmygreatwarera I had bad luck with the toggle (map/list) on safari on my iPhone. I did the “1 ticket” and “2 ticket” filter option and it would refresh the list everyone. I got a (waitlisted) Detroit ticket this way.

@snickn @justincgohn @girdley Consulting costs are dumb high, Oracle vendor support sucks, everything is an increase to license or usage cost, overly aggressive campaign for Java licenses are why I don’t like them. But DAMN is their product stable and does what it needs to do.
