In den letzten Wochen sehen wir, dass Russland seine Aggression gegen Europa ausweitet. Heute hat Deutschland öffentlich gemacht, dass Russland für die Drohnenattacke in Leipzig verantwortlich ist. Neben Cyberattacken, Sabotageversuchen und Desinformationskampagnen ist das eine weitere Eskalation, die unsere Sicherheit in Europa bedroht.

Unsere Aufgabe ist jetzt, gemeinsam mit unseren europäischen Partnern unsere Resilienz gegen hybride Angriffe zu stärken und vorbereitet zu sein.

Wir stehen solidarisch hinter Deutschland.

Keskustelimme Suomen ja Itävallan yhteistyön tiivistämisestä sekä ajankohtaisista ulko- ja turvallisuuspoliittisista kysymyksistä, kuten Venäjän hyökkäyssodasta Ukrainassa, Lähi-idästä, transatlanttisista suhteista ja Kiinasta.

Onnittelin Itävaltaa valinnasta YK:n turvallisuusneuvostoon. Itävallan kausi alkaa tammikuussa 2027. Suomi tekee määrätietoisesti töitä seuratakseen perässä kaudella 2029–2030.

Today in Vienna, I met with H.E. Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria @MFA_Austria. We discussed how the @IFRC and the Austrian Red Cross @roteskreuzat can continue to serve as trusted partners for principled humanitarian action at a time when the rules-based international order faces growing challenges.

I warmly thanked Austria for its long-standing support to the IFRC, including through the @IFRC_DREF as well as emergency response operations in Sudan, Lebanon, Türkiye and Syria, and Ukraine. We also exchanged views on IFRC Renewal and the need to invest in locally-led humanitarian action and in prevention and preparedness.

Austria is a strategic partner and we greatly value this partnership. We are grateful for Austria’s continued support to the IFRC and the @roteskreuzat.

Die humanitäre Laga in #Gaza ist katastrophal. Auch wir haben die Verpflichtung vor Ort zu helfen.
Deshalb schließen wir uns gemeinsam mit 21 Staaten der dänischen Initiative an, um Verletzte zur medizinischen Behandlung ins Westjordanland und nach Ost-Jerusalem zu evakuieren und zu versorgen. Gemeinsam rufen wir Israel dazu auf, einen humanitären Korridor zu öffnen und medizinische Lieferung in den Gazastreifen zu erlauben.
