Fantastic day yesterday at the Greater London Project conference! And it was great to see so many of our members there, and be a part of great discussions about the city. Particular huge thanks to @civic_future, @KingsCollegeLon and @WorksInProgMag for their support.
A small number of places are available to members of the public with an interest in this topic, covering free accommodation and all expenses.
To be in with a chance of attending, please apply below by May 29:

Thanks Ash. We get hundreds of applications to our programmes and our Fellows come from all walks of life. We’ve had software engineers, novelists, military people, restauranteurs, film editors, prison officers, teachers, lawyers, and physicists, among many others. Lots of people make successful repeat applications.
Britain isn’t working. We’re trying to fix it. We need more high-calibre MPs, advisers, civil servants, commentators, or something else entirely. Could you be one of them?
🚨 Applications for the Civic Future Talent Programmes close this Sunday at 22:00 🚨
Apply at the link below.
I think the Civic Future fellowship is one of the best tools the country has for creating the next generation of talent, and I encourage any eligible person to apply for it.
I completed @civic_future's Public Leadership Programme and it was transformative. I've since set up an arts policy think-tank in a bid to get dysfunction out of the arts. But maybe you want to be an MP or Civil Servant or Policy guru. This year's application deadline for Civic Future programmes is looming. Could public service be for you? Go for it!
I HIGHLY recommend that if you're interested in improving the UK you apply for Civic Future
I did the Public Leadership Programme this year and it was brill -- read loads, heard from v impressive speakers, made loads of new friends, & even got a new job!
closes Sunday 🌞
We need better people in our politics. Civic Future's fellowship programme is ace. I've had the chance to speak to a couple of their previous cohorts, and the talent density is really high.
Today is the last day to apply - go for it!
'Munira Mirza’s Mission: Get Better Politicians' on Secrets of Statecraft with @aroberts_andrew
Munira reflects on her time at the highest levels of government and why political leadership has deteriorated across liberal democracies.
Munira Mirza—former Director of No. 10s Policy Unit under Boris Johnson—joins @aroberts_andrew's Secrets of Statecraft to discuss why leadership is faltering across liberal democracies.
From Brexit and COVID to meritocracy and civic duty, she argues short-termism, media incentives, and a broken elite pipeline are driving talent out of public life—and what it would take to rebuild a serious governing class.
Not a bad location to discuss how to revive the state and world order @txp_io@civic_future.
Thanks so much to @b_judah, John Bew, and Munira Mirza for a brilliant discussion.
