Cali workers for KY Derby card. Race 1 Silent Way Always liked this stylish mover waiting on a mate in 4/18 move after pulling strongly early. Thinks there is more speed here. Grade: B Winston Ave Workmanlike try on 4/20 breezing with Sounds Lucky. Grade: B- Race 2 Memory Moved up some on barn mate Cipriani looking a tad the second best late. Fine enough. Grade: B- Race 4 Usha Happy spins besting a duo of McCarthy trainees on 4/24. Easy solo on 4/11. Appears fit enough. Grade: B- Splendora Big mare has a solid series since last win but 4/24 move was terrific going 36.0, 59.4 out in 112.1, 125.0. Very strong right back. Grade: B+ Race 8 Secured Freedom Breezed up on barn mate Bowtie Boys in last 2 drills. Both very nice; may really like this one turn mile gig. Grade: B- Crude Velocity Super breeze in last move getting company midway, breezing powerfully solo late in a very rapid 23.0, 34.1, 57.2, 109.4. Fire huge right back. Grade: A- Race 9 Greenwich Village Holding form out of wins breezing best over maiden Big Jake in last and Embry Show on 3/29. Looks fit. Grade: B Race 10 Cornucopian Big breezes looking tad the best with Imagination on 4/24, running far clear from Cash Call on 4/18 in 111.1. A terrific colt. Grade: B+ Imagination Tad the second best but quite nice with Cornucopian in last move breezed best over Voldemort on 4/18. Has found his niche as a sprinter. Grade: B Race 11 Gold Phoenix Solid series breaking behind barn mates, moving up and looking best in the lane each time. 8 year old is still happy in his work. Grade: B- Astronomer Seems about the same just kind of getting there on the TT. Grade: C+_ Race 12 Intrepido Guided some while moving up on Uncle Charlie in last local workout. Have seen better from him. Grade: C+ So Happy Mercurial sort breezed best over Watsonville on 4/17 with Mike up. Have to think this is another positive step forward. Grade: B Potente Thought his 4/20 drill where he dispatched barn mate Cash Call with aplomb was his very best drill to date. Went 48.1, 112.4, 124.4. Still has upside. Grade: B+ Pavlovian Moved up on barnmate Robusta on 4/19 in 50.2, 114.2 out in 127.3. Colt may have gotten better. Grade: B- Robusta Was a target for Pavlovian on 4/19 working steadily in 50.4, 115.0 out in 128.1. This one gives it his very best in each try, get the feeling it knocks him out a bit for the next race hence the good race/bad race pattern. Grade: B- Race 14 Big Jake Solid with Desert Gate in last, second best to stakes winner Greenwich Village on 4/18, heads up with Pecos River on 4/3. Seems a steady moving fit in here. Grade: B-
