A relatively small (ML 6.4) shallow (17.9km) earthquake hit western Nepal claiming 157 lives. This zone has 500 years of seismic gap and expects a large earthquake (>8 ML). The establishment of seismic stations for EWS and building code implementation are of utmost necessity.
