A much needed step to understand cloud-mircophysics over mountainous terrain. Reminds me another high-altitude site at Ranicharui (Uttarakhand) where with support from @moesgoi and @Indiametdept, @coedmm at @iitroorkee are working to improve mountain ABL processes in NWP models.

Prof. Tatsuya Ishikawa, Hokkaido University, Japan visited @coedmm IITR as part of the Indo-Japan Cooperative Science Program (IJCSP) project on "Landslide Early Warning systems"! A technical meeting held on implementation of Japanese Early Warning Criteria to Indian conditions!

A relatively small (ML 6.4) shallow (17.9km) earthquake hit western Nepal claiming 157 lives. This zone has 500 years of seismic gap and expects a large earthquake (>8 ML). The establishment of seismic stations for EWS and building code implementation are of utmost necessity.
