@yus_mona Walaalo lughaya is much cheaper than Oodweyne , and the road is over 250km yet to develop. However we only have 50m to start the first phase . Oodweyne was just 1.5m per km from my source
@yus_mona Lughaya was around $1m per km, despite having much worse soil conditions. I know Oodweyne needs bridges and culverts, but the expensive section is mainly Oodweyne-Hartsheikh. Beyond that, the soil conditions aren’t particularly difficult.
@yus_mona It is possible but the dept hasn’t been notified, they will need to tender the project and source the supplies. It won’t be possible this year, inshallah hopefully they can next year
@yus_mona Walaalo, you’re spot on with the est, although I think it’s way too high. The consultants should’ve been challenged, especially when you compare it with the much cheaper Borama- Lughaya road. From my sources, the issue now is funding, the project is still waiting for ext funding
