“[Good works] profit us because they are the ways whereby God ordinarily leads His elect unto eternal life, and unless the branch bears fruit, it will be cut off and cast into the fire…
Baptist Robert Purnell admonishing Baptists for certain treatments of Paedobaptists:
“First, to the one who has taken up this ordinance [baptism] rightly, beware of laying a greater stress upon it than God appointed. It was never appointed to break love and communion, and to
co-heirs, fellow sufferers, and fellow citizens, having the same Father and being clothed with the same robe, and ruled by the same Word, and inclined to the same work? Will you shut out those that God has received? Will you seek to stop the mouth that God has opened and refuse
@ColinLundstrom Every player on that field should be ashamed they didn’t dedicate their lives to instead playing the best sport in the world for a country built to be good at it.
Every day I'm asked, "why don't you go on Tucker's show?"
Others tell me they've bombarded Tucker with requests to have me on.
For the record, I'd be delighted to speak with Tucker - and think we'd have a very fruitful discussion.
But it's for him to invite me.
Val Nichushkin came to Colorado looking for a chance and left a Stanley Cup champion. He battled his demons but always seemed to be a great teammate and truly wish him nothing but the best. Sad to see him leave.
@neJeremy Pretty close. It was along the lines of JD a claiming a while back that he was going to fade from public life and be content as a chicken farmer. But that humble chicken farmer made his way back into public “ministry” and polemics pretty quickly.
@JustusPeccator1 I agree forgiveness must be constantly applied. But how you can divy that up between faith and sacraments is confusing. If I approach the Supper by faith, are you saying both my faith and the Supper are delivering the the same forgiveness of sins, and yet one is not superfluous?
@ErickYbarra3 The problem for me equivocating infallible interpretation with infallible development. Case study - the Canon. Which apostle taught the canon? What is the "positive" revelation of the Canon to which Rome merely provided the "negative" interpretation?
So when someone asks you what makes humans unique in the age of AI. The answer isn’t “we’re smarter” or “we’re more creative.”
Your answer should be, we are the kind of beings who can be found by and respond to God.
And that’s something no language model can touch.
