One of the amazing news of today! His research and the sheer amount of his findings are incredible. I loved his book Neanderthal Man, really recommended
2022 #NobelPrize laureate Svante Pääbo has established an entirely new scientific discipline, paleogenomics. By revealing genetic differences that distinguish all living humans from extinct hominins, his discoveries provide the basis for exploring what makes us uniquely human.
We're sending our Photon spacecraft to Venus in search of life 🛰️
Supported by a science team at @MIT, this is the 1st private mission to Venus & 1st opportunity to probe the Venusian clouds in nearly 4 decades.
Full mission details in this new paper: https://t.co/diJter9Lmt
Let's continue the topic of Venus and the habitability of the clouds - our new paper suggests that the clouds of Venus might not be as hostile to life as previously thought - the key component to habitability of the clouds - ammonia: https://t.co/PyDmwXKGCW
We’re excited to release DeepConsensus, a transformer approach for PacBio HiFi consensus generation. DeepConsensus reduces HiFi read errors by 42%, improving assembly NG50, base accuracy, as well as variant calling. Led by @gunjan_baid and @daniel_e_cook

@iwangulenko Interesting. Yeah, it helps to be "over communicating" when in the remote mode. It also helps if your co and teams are distributed over different locations, you are then used to talking over zooms, emails, githubs, chats, etc and constantly confirming stuff.
My first Medium article about the ultralong ONT trio-binning and polishing tools benchmarking from my ASHG poster last October.

If you use @WDL_dev and @dnanexus, you can now use @github Actions to publish a workflow in a GitHub repository to the platform. https://t.co/7OujPP7HoH
Why building strong foundations and local expertise matters: It looks like the @sabeti_lab viral-ngs pipeline we (@dnanexus@DNAmlin) helped deploy during the 2014 Ebola outbreak was used by African investigators for the first SARS-Cov-2 genome in Africa https://t.co/RYQGAeorRT
