#Concussion and Brain Injury-Focused Medical Monitoring Program Launches for Former #NCAA College-Athletes https://t.co/QHPpffHTp2 https://t.co/8BFF5QsHVe
If you've made the mistake of signing up your young child for youth tackle football, there is no shame in pulling them out today & moving to flag.
I know this sounds radical, but I'll say it- allowing your child to get hit in the head over and over again is not a good idea. 👇
Gronk has now admitted #CTE was part of his reason for retiring. “I’m aware of that. That’s why I took the action and got away from the game. I would not lie. My mood swings were totally up and down...That’s why I had to walk away." #InformedConsent Watch at 3:25
Did you know that people who sustain a #concussion or a more severe #TBI are likely to have sleep problems that continue for at least a year and a half? #BrainInjury#ChangeYourMind https://t.co/92smK7Mr5w
There was a time when "everybody" was an expert @ #ADHD , now the dx du jour is #concussion, beware of unqualified so called "experts" offering snake oil 😡🥶🤬
#NCAA is spending about $54 M in 3rd party legal fees for its fiscal year ending in August 2019.
If NCAA spent a fraction of that $ on #concussion education, they would save so much more than $$$ $#. While lawyers get rich, players suffer/die.

@JDohertyATCPT Thats a good step forward, but will #NFL actually implement it & hire the right provides to be part of every team? Only time will tell. There should be a #Neuropsychologist to assess & treat neurobehavioral sequelae of #concussion on every #NFLteam

Jim Corrigall loves football despite symptoms that point to #CTE. Daughter says Cleveland Clinic them Dad's issues: "...depressed, bipolar, too much drinking, aggressive, all these different things — it’s a result of him playing football all those years."

USWNT, Netherlands players quickly return to field after a head-to-head collision that leaves them down for minutes. O’Hara of US does not return for the 2nd half. #FIFA’s terrible sub rule continues to force teams to practice dangerous #concussion care. https://t.co/iLdeRUkpDK
Proud to be participating today in The First NINDS Consensus Workshop to Define the Diagnostic Criteria for Traumatic Encephalopathy Syndrome (TES). The goal is to formally define the clinicopathological counterpart of #CTE. A much needed first step for empirical studies.
I have always questioned the utility of a concussion app or even a sideline screener used by non-medical personnel. What’s the point if you still must seek medical attention if you SUSPECT there is a concussion? Let the medical doc make the diagnosis.
