@EddieComeaux I feel that there needs to be more mental health checks for campus police officers in order for them to be in the right state of mind to help protect students. It is not fair for students to fear those who have authority if they are supposed to serve and protect #racialjustice
@MarioPerales24@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree with you and I think the right approach is to put more emphasis on academic support in order for athletes to do well and succeed in their future careers. #UCR150@marieforleo@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
There has not been much emphasis on academic support for college athletes. With COVID-19 it makes it even harder for some schools to provide support. This will negatively impact their future and change needs to happen #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar

@casandra_carri @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely This really upsets me as well. There is no excuse for their actions that brought them into a lawsuit in the first place. Knowing that they can get away with it because of amateurism is not right. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
NCAA faced many lawsuits in the past and even today they still continue to face them. It is most shocking that recently NCAA failed to protect women from sexual assault leading to another lawsuit failed against them. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar

@jessica_sacueza @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar You bring up a good point that being able to gain different experiences is important for students. The NCAA needs to make transferring easier for student athletes. #Ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
The NCAA has set transfer rules that make it hard for student athletes to be able to transfer. This explains why over the past 3 years the transfer rates has stayed the same. The NCAA needs to reevaluate their transfer restrictions. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@JANELYmena@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I believe that awareness is key to making a difference. I agree with you and I think the safety of the student athletes should always come first. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
A serious injury in sports are concussions. More education needs to be spread about concussions in order to keep student athletes safe. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@sheilaluna___@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar It's upsetting to read that colleges are blaming Title IX for cutbacks in men's sports. I also feel that it's sad to know that we had to implement a policy in order to help women get equal opportunity and there was no need for a policy for men. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
This political cartoon reminded me of what I read about institutions blaming Title IX for having to cut programs for men's sports in order to support women's sports. This is upsetting because there needs to be equal opportunity
#ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@salka006 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@247Sports I saw a similar article as well. I was wondering how it will affect college athletes. I feel like without them signing NLI they have no commitment so they are not restricted to the school's policies #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
Due to covid-19 NLI suspended signings for high school students. They still need to decide what college they want to attend. How will this affect future college athletes?

@KaylaHern20@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree with you that it is shocking and I also think it is very upsetting as well. It angers me to know that the main motive is money and not the students well being and health. #Ucr150@KaylaHern20@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
Even in court the NCAA will continue to fight for their regulations and rules they have put in place in order to make money for themselves even though it violates federal antitrust laws.

SAAC is recommending NCAA to vote on an eligibility relief for players affected by COVID-19. It is unfair bc athletes did not complete their championship season so they lose the extra year of eligibility. #Ucr150@helloJuJudy @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely

I want to start sharing quotes that motivates me and helps me get through my day and here is one I encountered today:
