I’ve been obsessed with AI gaming for over a year now and have loved seeing all of the new ideas and games pop up!
Thought I’d break down the way I see the space and try to categorize some of it. 🧵⬇️
@zenorocha@Cloudflare@resend Would much rather you charge based on emails send vs contacts stored. Storing contacts should not be something we pay so much for.
@zenorocha with @Cloudflare email coming in at ~3x lower than @resend, can we expect to see some price cuts? I'd prefer to stay on resend because I'm too lazy to move things over but if you guys aren't changing your prices I feel like I will have to move over when it's out of beta.
I think depending on cloudflare’s feature set but I’ve always felt resend is way too expensive for what we do with it. We really just sent transactional magic link emails and maybe 1 small broadcast every 6 months. Pretty sure we pay $200 a month right now to send barely any emails, since we’re mostly paying to store our email contacts.
I’m not really sure there’s much you can add because we really only need it for those two purposes right now and we’re way overpaying for that.
@bchesky@bchesky I saw ai answers in your current listing but is there no AI chat to find a listing? I want to say “find me an airbnb in this area with x,y,z”
@OfficialLoganK I think where you guys went wrong was that you think flash just means fast, but to most people flash means fast AND cheap. This one was fast but not cheap, so to most people it is not a flash model. I wonder if you named it something else if it would have gone down better. Also, I do really want another ultra cheap and fast model. A true banger at the 2.5 flash prices, like composer 2.5, would be a winning move!
Hi Lars!
I tried setting up resumable streams with upstash https://t.co/25s58SUOKB and a stop endpoint, but couldn’t get it to work properly - it seemed to get hair with the hooks / types from the AI SDK.
I wasn’t necessarily expecting the ai sdk itself to be able to make both work but it would be great if there was some official example of how to do it with additional infra. Letting users tab out and start/stop streams is a pretty common need in chat apps these days.
Thanks again for all of your hard work!
