[Steve Yedlin @steveyedlin]

Fellow photo nerds, I’ve partnered with dear friends @rianjohnson and Eric Cameron to make a bespoke iPhone still camera app: Chromagraph Camera. It’s the camera we wanted for ourselves and we’re making it available for purchase on the App Store. https://t.co/bS1vOxSUZk

Hey @grok find me a cheap display on Amazon, and then build a custom OS I can run on it that does the same thing as these displays without the bloat and ads

Using the right words can drastically improve the results you get from your agents, which is why I built a vocabulary of 244 terms for https://t.co/ItfxHzSjMc.

If a term is used in a lesson, it gets a dotted underline. You can hover to see its definition or click to see a demo.

my goal as a menswear writer isn't to help you look cool or impress people, but to help you cultivate a kind of curiosity, knowledge, and appreciation that will allow you to get this excited about a pair of blue jeans.

So I recently badgered my cinematographer @steveyedlin into making my ideal iPhone still camera app. It shoots RAW, bypasses the iPhone's look processing and instead uses the same image processing we use on our movies. https://t.co/makZzhFd2Q

FWIW I think he’s missing important dimensions like desire for human connection, empathy, shared understanding, which will be important for the future of jobs in healthcare, education, etc.

[ben hylak @benhylak]

every product i use should just be a headless mcp, that feeds into an agent, where i never have to think about anything underneath.

except for our product, of course.

in our product, customers love the ui and love us very much.

we're special that way.

[Works in Progress @WorksInProgMag]

At Works In Progress we are always looking for new writers with smart, fresh takes the world needs to hear. Could you be one of them?

We publish longreads on tech, policy, economics, architecture, culture, and all sorts of things. If you write for us your work will be printed in our beautiful magazine, read by many of the world's most interesting people. We also pay well.

Here are some examples of the sort of articles we would love to commission:

- Why isn't there more semiconductor manufacturing in Silicon Valley?
- Fifteen years ago, CRISPR was an incredibly promising new medical technology. What has happened to all the CRISPR drugs?
- Japan was once the stock example of a low-fertility country, but it has staved off further decline as other East Asian countries have plummeted past it. How?
- Poland has had exceptional post-communism economic growth, and is on track to overtake Britain in wealth per capita in 2030. What caused the Polish economic miracle?

If you have an idea for something you think is the sort of thing we would publish - or the sort of thing we *should* be publishing - please get in touch, or send a pitch to [email protected].

Big news today from Apple: Keynote is getting an open, JSON-based file format (.keyx), plus a Python library to create Keynote files on any platform.

Pages, Numbers and Keynote files today are closed and hard to modify unless you use AppleScript (limited and old) or Shortcuts (a huge pain), so you can’t really use AI to make documents in those formats. This was a HUGE pain inside Apple as well as outside, and most tools worked around it by making a PowerPoint file and importing it into Keynote, which wasn’t perfect.

Creator Studio subscribers on the Mac also get MCP support in Keynote, Pages and Numbers, so you can bring your own AI agent to read, edit and automate all three. Both the new format and MCP support arrive in November.

Bringing an AI-friendly format to Keynote (and I assume Pages and Numbers soon after) is a big positive change.
