Alex appears to confirm they need the consumer vehicle data flywheel to acheive Robotaxi levels of Autonomy (which they don't yet have).
This is important for those assuming Tesla will have all manner of competitors in the autonomy space soon.
I think the argument hinges more on time to market (Wayve, etc) vs time to scale (Tesla) which gives Tesla a head start currently.
