Privileged (and intimidated) to share the stage at @RCoANews#rcoaupdates with the hugely impressive @NicolaPowley and awe-inspiring @OlleLjungqvist yesterday
Although I’m always happy to chat about my research, I have to confess that their prehab material is the game-changer!
Our assessment of the impact of #COVID19 on deceased organ donation in the UK is published today https://t.co/fSijWmT1jv
Highlights the amazing work of @NHSBT and ED/ICU clinical staff, and the support of the public, in maintaining this vital and life-saving service
Really enjoying this paper on joint models for multiple endpoints in RCTs (particularly joint modelling of longitudinal and time-to-event outcomes). Why are such methods rarely used in RCTs, when they may not least increase increase power? https://t.co/whEv1LDVlU
100% recommend this course. I went in 2016 with @jackietwam and @Raddish25 - not only did we learn a huge amount, it was also just a really great and sociable couple of days away. Expert faculty bit they also know how to entertain in Edinburgh!
Missed publication promotion alert!

Patients who develop new-onset AF during an ICU admission have higher rates of subsequent hospitalisation with AF, stroke, and heart failure.
I think communication (with ward team and pt) of AF status / plan at ICU discharge, and follow-up, are important.
