Click on the chat icon on the left menu and ask questions about the farm. The assistant has access to a large database of Ontario specific agronomy information, your farm’s soil data, and a list of tools it can use to take some powerful actions.
I’m excited to launch GroundWork’s new agronomy assistant today! Want to build soil tests to optimal values, help decide seeding rates, fix pH issues, do manure nutrient math or just learn more about the soil on your farm? Check out our demo at https://t.co/4dYjyR0BvA
@FieldwalkerAg@TerryDaynard@farmerschneck@JoshBoersen@PetkerFarm@woodleighfarms In the N data I had, I looked at this, but it seemed that there was very little predictive power of rain before V10. I think this was because soil moisture during silking is what the rain right before silking was a proxy for. Earlier rain data just seemed to be noise
Fortunate timing. Sharpe Farms (@28724m) applies variable rate urea at stage V12 using script developed with help from @Woodrill. Rain follows at night. Rate varies by SOM, accumulated rainfall, and variable-rate mono-ammonium phosphate applied earlier.
Also some check plots.
Stop number 3 for #AGFO was @Woodrill here in Guelph! We learned about their practices for on-farm monitoring and mapping of soil health. Their work adds so much to understanding soil health and how it can be researched accessibly! Thank you for having us! #AgMatters#agriculture
I've taken a detailed look at current recommendations on rate of nitrogen fertilizer to be applied on corn in Ontario. In opinion, we need to do better. And it's probably little better in nearby states. https://t.co/A0LTqrqcAc
Want to learn more about your soils or get into precision ag on your farm? Check out this video of @breckonsbest explaining GroundWork's soil mapping process we are offering across Ontario with @Woodrill.

2nd stage of a deeper dive into our #soils. With the help of @Woodrill Groundworks we have targeted 1 meter probes based on EC, Topo and yield maps to truly understand our farms soil conditions and variability. This will help drive fertility and seeding decisions for years.
@Freebuurd@cropdoc2@TerryDaynard@28724m@Woodrill@UofGuelphOAC@JoshNasielski Thanks Blair! This publication was cont corn since it came from a long term N response trial originally setup to test soil health effects of N app. Chapter 2 of my thesis validated these results with many rotations and @cropdoc2 data. We should publish that chapter.
We have a winner! Thank you to all who voted!
Congratulations to @Woodrill for winning the Farmers' Choice Award for the #COFS22 Innovations Program!

This is the next step in the soil mapping process - sampling the soil to depth (~ 1m) at preselected locations across the farm. @Woodrill
(And, yes, that's an old corn crib. Not used for 25+ years.)
We have an awesome event coming up with @breckonsbest@adamohayes@cropdetective and twitterless Ted Taylor with 2 soil pits, lunch and a chance to bring home a soil auger!
