When passersby questioned why such young children were detained, the army told the to stop filming. The soldiers demanded to know where the boys' father was and detained them for a while before multiple soldiers went to the family's' house, preventing activists from following them. The soldiers then harassed and threatened the shopkeepers who were trying to support the children.

This is the everyday violence of the occupation in Al Khalil where Israeli soldiers routinely terrorise Palestinians outside their homes without impunity.
