The CSP is appalled at the attack on two British Jews in Golders Green yesterday. We hope that they are recovering well. Many British Jews are frightened, angry and feel alone. We commit to standing with you.
This is the latest in a series of increasingly violent attacks on our Jewish community. Underlying this seems to be a toxic mix of political anti-Semitism from a range of ideologies and state-sponsored terrorism. This has not happened in a vacuum.
Anti-Semitic tropes have been normalised and legitimised, as have other forms of racism and hatred. This is the time to show allyship and for all marginalised communities to stand together and demand active measures against the hate speech which encourages anti-Semitic and other racist violence.
The Jewish community are an integral and valued part of the British community. It is appalling that some people are feeling so unsafe they are talking of leaving the country. As a small community they face disproportionate levels of hate. We express our solidarity with our Jewish members, staff and the wider Jewish community and commit to opposing anti-Semitism in the workplace, in universities and in wider society.
The CSP has advice on understanding antisemitism and help if you are impacted by it - please visit our website for further information and support.

@ali_allon@EngelsUtopia So if someone else tells you they’re a woman too, does that make YOU less of a woman?
No it doesn’t.
It isn’t affecting you at all.
Unions including the CSP are encouraging members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to add their voice to calls for better NHS pay. ⬇️

Absolutely sick to death of hearing about how the new @louistheroux documentary has made people think about attitudes to women. Lots of MPs jumping on the bandwagon. I mean, no disrespect to Louis - I’m grateful for the highlight - but for God’s sake…
Women get killed by their partner every week. Tiny Man Tate has been a thing for years. Domestic violence shelters are overwhelmed. Women have been waving the red flags about incels and attitudes for years. We’ve been begging for change. We’ve been highlighting the serious threat of anti-women social media. Then a MAN makes a documentary and suddenly everyone’s interested? Do you not all think that this might be part of the problem?
A disgraceful hate crime by @KarenPollock100 of @HolocaustUK, seeking to exclude all non-Jewish victims from Holocaust Memorial Day. The UN resolution establishing the day specifies it is to honour "one third of the Jewish people, along with countless members of other minorities".
One of the reported objectives of the Holocaust Educational Trust is to advance education about the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance.
The statement from Karen Pollock would seemingly have us ignore one of the objectives of the very organisation she represents.
If we cannot consider the contemporary relevance of the Holocaust then we won't be able to learn anything valuable that we can apply in the present day in order that we might prevent genocide today.
This is such a massive contradiction.
@HolocaustUK Two things can be true:
It is holocaust denial to minimise Jewish lives lost
It is Holocaust denial to minimise the lives of Roma/Sinti, communists and socialists, gay and disabled lives lost
The whole point is to remember everyone affected by genocide.
We can NEVER forget how disabled people were prosecuted along
alongside Jews, artists, LGBTQIA, SCIENTISTS… all those who were targeted because they would typically have the potential to cause others to rise up against the propaganda and inhumane treatment !
This Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember the millions of Jews murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution, and those killed in more recent genocides.
The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day this year is 'bridging generations'.

CELIA IS NOT A MAN.
