@gator_gum MPs are tied to the objectives of a party enough. I think it is okay that MPs have the freedom to change their association... to an extent. It is now up to the MP to communicate and justify benefits to their constituents -- all that work is their burden.

@ronmortgageguy Carney's a business dude like you, so look at it with that context. Pierre is not a "leader" in any way I can see, so maybe that's catching up. Also, kind of extraordinary times. And MPs should have freedom of movement.

@profstonge @danielfoch Convenient for various reasons. US has a big market, Canadians are attractive in that we are educated/trained, opportunities arise, culturally adjacent (not symmetrical tho). Canadians are big passport holders, comfortable being elsewhere for travel or work. Fairly routine stat.

@mattgurney Define "crushed." An initial attack? Probably. Ally attacking another is a unique situation. Over time, not sure. If Europe and allies want Grnlnd, they may do so through a unified and strategic response. Unified and strategic aren't really USA specialties at the moment.
