Members of the European Parliament voted today in favor of a resolution calling for the right to abortion to be included in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. 

The resolution also condemns the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

Seems to me this is a pretty good visual metaphor: a few activists are trying to stand up to the fossil fuel machine, but the machine ploughs on, with no regard for human wellbeing. Meanwhile, agents of the state look on passively, approvingly, ready to support business as usual.
