@_revoluzia_ @stephmurrayyyy Schools make their own policies, usually Year 5, sometimes Year 6. If you're lucky with your headteacher they might be willing to make an exception to their policy for your kid. Ours said absolutely not. You can send them in earlier though, this is just about leaving.

@ryancbriggs I used to think that and it worked well with my first until she hit puberty. Since then pickiness increased dramatically. I've stuck to my guns, but this has led her to being hungry a lot of the time. No reversal of trend in sight. Not convinced it will be worth it in hindsight.

@s8mb The Draghi report is about the whole EU, not Western Europe. Wikipedia also shows Western European countries to have ~same productivity as the US now.

Fewer labour protections can lead to fewer hours worked, but fewer hours worked are a different problem than lower productivity
