Overall, I’m very surprised at how little media coverage there’s been around the OpenAI / Hugging Face attack. It’s clearly one of the most important things to happen this year.
@__alpoge__@dzackgarza I’m fairly certain you’re not so slow of a writer that you couldn’t have written a statement for the result you (et al.) proved on Hadamard matrices.
@kimmonismus It is an impressive result and this is beyond my mathematical expertise, but I am pretty sure that improving a lower bound on the proportion of zeroes constitutes ~0 progress towards RH.
@MariusHobbhahn@andrewho03 The other person immediately offered to put 100k on the line at 50/50 - do you really believe he thinks it’s remotely close to even odds? He’d sell you this at closer to 5% than 50%.
No, it's not a good business move to admit that your model ran off and hacked a rival business which reported the incident to law enforcement! People want to be skeptics so badly it bends around into being almost unfathomably credulous.
We are cooked.
China's Alibaba just revealed Wan Streamer.
AI agents can now see you, hear you, and talk back on video in real time.
This is not voice mode anymore 🤯
The US Government has requested a slow staggered rollout of GPT-5.6, and OpenAI has agreed. During this phase the government will approve each user individually. This will probably be the norm for all frontier models from all labs from now on.
Holy Sh*t: that changes the whole Fable 5 story completely:
On June 11, the very same day Amazon reportedly uncovered the jailbreak, “Mythos” allegedly breached almost all classified systems belonging to the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command, not over the course of weeks, but within hours.
"On June 11th Mark Warner, the vice-chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that General Joshua Rudd, who leads the National Security Agency and the Pentagon’s Cyber Command, had told him that Mythos “broke into almost all of our classified systems, not in weeks, but in hours”."

@littmath@Almost_Sure Even “confidence that I can master what I have learnt” – not having this has usually been the only obstacle to me developing a much deeper understanding of something I found difficult.
@littmath@alkalinesec@willdepue Gowers’ answer in the document of mathematicians’ impressions:
“I don’t see any obvious signs of that from its chain of thought,
but it could perhaps be that a lot of additional “actual thought” is going on behind each step of
what it presents as its chain of thought.”
@littmath@alkalinesec@willdepue Do you think the CoT had any fluff? Any places where the model was prevaricating over a step that you would expect a top-tier mathematician to figure out much more quickly?
