@danja_stafford Having a concrete tool of assessment is very useful! I agree that using tools for evaluation can be great resources in helping create safer school environments for students. #WGST106
Findings from the @WGEAgency Gender Equality Scorecard shows it’s going to take more than 25 years to reach gender equality in our workplaces.
This. Is. Too. Slow.

This is very true. Not enough men take paternity leave to support women in their careers, especially those in challenging fields such as stem. #WGST106
Parental leave is being offered to men and women but women are the one who take it more than men. Parental leave taken by men needs to be normalized just as women. Women need a lot of support in their career to thrive in the STEM field.

According to the article, Explaining the Gender Wage Gap in STEM: Does Field Sex Composition Matter? by Katherine Michelmore, & Sharon Sassler there is a drastic change in hourly wage by the race and gender of the individual.
In an article from the Journal of Bisexuality in 2008, first-hand accounts from several self-identifying bisexual individuals revealed that many bisexual men and women feel like they aren't welcome in or are misunderstood by the gay and lesbian community. #WGST106
It is very unfortunate for those people who actually experienced this kind of trauma which stays with them for their entire life. #Violence#EnoughIsEnough
Impact of gender stereotyping is not only limited to under-representation of women in stem major but it also affects women in other walks of life. So it is essential to bring the change in the mindset of those who still believe in these gender stereotypes. #WGST106#SheIsStem
Gender stereotyping kills women’s confidence. Recent study has found out that women lack confidence in certain professions due to gender stereotyping. According to the department of labor, only 26% percent of the women are employed in the stem field.

It is extremely important to understand how stereotyping subconsciously affects a person's ability to perform in a certain profession. Stereotyping is one of the leading causes due to which we observe a disproportionate number of women in the stem majors. #WGST106#WomenInStem.
Eliminating disparities in STEM needs to start by eliminating biases in our school systems. Teachers and staff need to create gender-neutral environments to help pave the path for quality and inclusive education in math and sciences for girls #WGST106#STEMeducation
@JoshS27675980 Hi Josh I agree that the root of the problem begins at childhood. The inequalities are seen at younger years. Girls need access to better resources and opportunities #WGST106
In cooperation with STEM Sisters and the Victorian Lead Scientist's Office, the Australian Science Media Centre is offering a special series of seminars for women in STEM from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Donte Palmer isn't the only dad who's had to squat on a dirty restroom floor to change his baby's diaper.
He's just the newest face of a movement that's been going on for quite a while: to install baby-changing stations in men's bathrooms. https://t.co/yj4dRH9vH9
@gabbyn2219 There are gender biases and also racial biases when it comes to women pursuing STEM careers. Engaging them early on with today's technology is a wonderful start.
@giulia_palaia@GrantWahl This is very interesting Giulia I never looked into the inequities when it came to prize money with sports. I'm sure this is a general issue with pay and sports amongst athletes in the US as well. Something to definitely look into and think about!
