open weights becoming the default feels inevitable, video and music getting 10x cheaper is the one that actually changes everything for creators. Ram prices tho… that’s the silent killer for the “run it at home” dream
solid list... the only one i’m not sold on is anthropic losing the top spot that fast
The first 10 seconds decide more than most design meetings
No download. No account wall, just a link that already works.
a lot of games and creator ideas die the moment you force that constraint.
the real cost of most tools isn’t the subscription but rather the 20 minutes of setup and the days of figuring out the workflow before you do any actual work.
Godot is genuinely good when you need clean lighting, dense scenes, and systems that stay out of the way.
With that being said Im working on browser games right now...
the deciding factor for me was the first play experience. a share link that just works with no download, no install, and no account wall before someone can try it. I feel like the friction difference compounds hard for multiplayer and live service stuff.
Don't get me wrong godot wins on performance and tooling once someone’s already in, but for what im building the zero friction start still matters more.
Built a Telegram alert system this week, it watches for my setup, pings my phone, and I hit "TAKE" or "SKIP" so every decision gets logged.
Two green days off it already. I took neither of them because I'm still in test phase and I want real data before I put money behind it....
which means I'm getting FOMO from my own alerts lmao, but two good days is also just what a coin flip looks like so I'm collecting data before I believe it.
@matviy yeah technical courses feel outdated. I learn way faster by building, only time I sit through long videos now is to get inspiration or for marketing insights/techniques
In my early days, I had to numb myself. There was so much work. The amount of work you can only measure by how much it weighs. And if I stopped to think about how “unfinishable” the amount of work I had to do was, I would’ve quit.
So I did the only thing I could do, I’d take the first thing off the stack and start…without thinking about how shitty & alone I felt. And how everyone I knew was enjoying their life in their perfect bubble of security following the path someone else put in front of them.
There’s a reason race horses wear blinders. Focus only on what’s in front of you.
You’ll get through it. Keep going.
