How does circuit connectivity support decision-making? We combined behavior, neural recordings, EM connectomics, & modeling in the same cortical circuit. A new study led by @aaron_t_kuan in collaboration w/ the Harvey and Panzeri labs. 1/5

These connectivity trends form an “opponent inhibition” circuit motif. Using circuit modeling, @bondanelli_g showed that this motif amplifies selective inputs, induces competition between oppositely selective cells, and makes it easier to distinguish between trials. 4/5
We are hiring at all levels: postdocs, students, engineers, and research assistants! Are you interested in understanding neuronal circuits underlying action? DM me for details.
Super excited to share my latest research on @biorxivpreprint! Thank you @darbly for risk hiring an engineer postdoc and my wonderful co-authors @lathomas42@MountainRhoades et al at the Lee lab. Check out the preprint, or scroll down for my twitprint summary! 1/
How do neuronal circuits balance encoding capacity and resilience? A new @biorxivpreprint on synapse-resolution reconstruction of the cerebellar cortex led by @trinarytree & @lathomas42. A wonderful collaboration with the Regehr and @janfunkey labs. 1/5
