The Colorado Fraternal Order of Police stands in full support of our brothers and sisters with the Aurora Police Department following this violent attack.
What began as a call for help during a mental health crisis turned into a brutal assault, where an officer was stabbed multiple times in the head while attempting to protect the community.
This is a stark reminder of the dangers officers face every day. They showed restraint, attempted de-escalation, and still found themselves under a life-threatening attack.
Violence against law enforcement must stop.
We are praying for the full recovery of the injured officer and standing with all Aurora officers who responded to this incident.

Denver’s Democrat-led City Council is splurging $26,000 of your tax dollars on a lavish mountain retreat at Lone Rock. While you face layoffs and furloughs, ten council members will cozy up in oxygen-enriched cabins, dine in style, and enjoy “breathtaking views” for two nights.
This is obscene.
• $16,000 for rooms, meals, and facility use.
• $2,600 for transportation with ADA accommodations.
• $7,600 for a facilitator and assessment tool.
Signed May 8, before the budget crisis? Convenient excuse. They could’ve canceled, but no—your struggles don’t stop their getaway. Council President Amanda Sandoval, a Democrat, claims it’s to “work better together.”
Really?
While Denver’s workers lose jobs, Democrats prioritize self-indulgence. This isn’t leadership—it’s a slap in the face.
Call your council member. Demand they answer for this betrayal.
How can Democrats justify this to families scraping by?
Detective Paul Gesi dedicated 41 years to law enforcement and to serving the community. Through his work, he touched countless lives through his work, teaching, and mentorship. His sudden passing has left a deep void for his family, friends, colleagues and the many community members who knew him. Donations made through this link will go directly to supporting Paul’s family during this difficult time. Your generosity is a meaningful way to honor Paul’s life and legacy.

District Attorney George Brauchler’s post-trial remarks on the Zachary Oliver case distort facts and endanger lives. You label a police K-9 a “trained killer dog,” yet evidence shows these animals train for controlled apprehension, not killing. Handlers teach dogs to bite and hold suspects, releasing on command to minimize harm. This aligns with objective reasonableness under Graham v. Connor (1989), where force must match the threat—severity of crime, immediate danger, and resistance.
Ragnar’s escape was an accident, not a programmed attack.
Your comparison of K-9s to sex offenders is reckless and false. Sex offenders register due to predatory histories. Police dogs serve as tools for public safety, reducing lethal force needs in arrests. Bites occur rarely, with only 3,600 ER visits yearly from police K-9s, and fatalities almost nonexistent. Equating them inflames tensions without basis in data.
Worse, you demand community notification for K-9 locations. This exposes officer homes to threats. Doxxing and attacks on police families rise annually. Handlers bond with dogs at home for effective work—your policy would broadcast addresses, inviting harassment or violence. Consider recent FBI reports on threats: Officers need protection, not exposure.
Your “Deputy Oliver’s Law” reacts emotionally, ignoring root causes like kennel failures. Push for better containment standards instead.
Inflammatory words erode trust in law enforcement.
@jeffcosheriffco is this ok with you? What do you tell the 2 year old girl YOUR K9 maimed?
This is embarrassing. The good men and women of the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office deserve better than this. https://t.co/JnSJkpxyHC

Many in the media insisted on reporting this nonsensical story: Yuriana Calderon made outrageous claims that she was kidnapped by federal agents, taken to a Border Patrol facility, and mistreated. SHE LIED and is in custody, facing many years in prison for conspiracy and making false statements to federal officers. Assaults against our agents have surged - and this type of fear mongering only perpetuates it and will be punished.

Mayor Bass: Our officers wear masks because rhetoric like yours has ramped up threats and assaults against their families.
They’re doing their job and detaining illegal aliens who broke immigration law.
Enough of the fearmongering for political attention.
