👇a general subsidy to reduce energy demand would be a great piece of policy. Other factors like the state of the skills base and the structure of the energy market (esp marginal cost pricing) are also key but a general subsidy would be foundational.👏👏

@GOVUK I'm a decarbonisation fan but you need to be more open with people about heat pumps. Yes they are 3 x more efficient than gas boilers but they run on electricity which is 4 times the price of gas for energy. You sort out the energy market and we will buy the heat pumps :)
