Happening now: David Odde, PhD (@DavidOddeLab) shares new insights on how cells migrate and how tumors grow, particularly in brain cancer progression.
Key takeaways:
• Classic collision theory sets an upper limit for immune cell effectiveness.
• T cell migration is predicted to be potentiated by increasing myosin contractility.
• CA-Rho OE potentiates myosin activity, T cell migration, and suppresses tumors better than.
• We are seeking to initiate a clinical trial for CA-Rho CAR-T cell therapy.

URGENT call to help #Iran immediately🚨
Based on my conversations with doctors in Tehran, Fars, Isfahan, Lorestan, Rasht, Sari & Kerman, as well as reports, photos & footages from eyewitnesses, the estimated death toll of protestors exceeds 5,000.
#DigitalBlackoutIran#R2P
What a cursed silence.
The footage comes from a place that is neither a hospital nor a morgue. Hospitals and morgues are overwhelmed, and families are forced to search for their loved ones in temporary, unknown locations.
What is happening in Iran right now is an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. Reports and videos from the ground show ordinary people being killed in massive numbers scenes that the world can no longer ignore.
This is no longer mere repression; it is an organized massacre unfolding in real time before the eyes of the world.
The cries, the desperate searches, the screams of people wandering among lifeless bodies, testify to the depth of this catastrophe.
Iran needs immediate action.
At this moment, silence is no longer neutrality, it is complicity in death.
Parents looking for their children. Those evil bastards! The West must find its voice, at the very least. Trump must redeploy some of those military assets he moved to the Caribbean, pronto. Now is the time for action. Free Iran!
We had an Exciting February! 🌟 Odde’s lab members @Aly_Mohammadd Aamir, and Pi @davidodde attended the GRC conference on the Physical Science of Cancer in Pomona, CA. They showcased their research through posters, flash talks, and presentations. #CancerResearch#GRC2025

We celebrated Lidia's amazing contributions during her time as a postdoc researcher at our lab with a delightful lunch at a Japanese restaurant. It was the perfect way to show our appreciation for all her hard work! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors, @LidiaLimn2
Let’s double the @NIH budget! New treatments and cures for dread diseases! Let’s go! Who hates cancer? Who hates diabetes? Who hates strokes? I know I do and I bet you do too. Let’s make it a priority today and gift ourselves with better health tomorrow.
During the next session at #CancerEngineeringSummit, experts shared solutions to hard problems.
Samir Mitragotri, PhD (@SMitragotri) discussed advancing cytotoxic T cell therapies.
David Odde, PhD (@davidodde) shared insights on glioblastoma and the mechanics of T cell migration in cancer progression.
Karen Lu, MD (@karenluMD) highlighted the power of multidisciplinary teamwork, sharing a real-world example of bridging basic science and clinical trials in ovarian cancer.
Excited to share that our review article, "Physical principles and mechanisms of cell migration", is now published online in npj Biological Physics and Mechanics! Read it here: https://t.co/RWBkNRRsoY @davidodde@ppproven
Very proud of my group’s presentations at the @BMESociety annual meeting, including our high school intern Lily, @Aly_Mohammadd , @matilla_roberto , and former PhD student @lsprahl (presenting his Postdoc work with @HughesLabPenn).
We are truly honored to see Lillian Houle representing the @davidodde lab at the #BMES2024, sharing her project at such a significant event. Lillian is one of the dedicated high school interns from this past summer at the @UMNews, Department of @UMNBME .
Excellent presentation by @matilla_roberto from @UMNews at #BMES2024@BMESociety on biophysical models to understand T cell migration! Congrats, Dr. Roberto Alonso Matilla.
☑️ Check out his poster later today at 3:30 -4:30 pm!
Exciting times at #BMES2024 in Baltimore! The @davidodde lab is making waves at this incredible event! @matilla_roberto is showcasing an innovative interdisciplinary program at #NCI, while @Aly_Mohammadd is turning heads with his captivating research poster.
