If you're in Europe and want to use Computer Use in Codex, just turn on a VPN, restart the Codex app, then turn off the VPN. The plugin stays enabled across restarts.
Retail owns an increasing portion of the market and is more prone to gambling-like behavior. The Iran War will have medium-term consequences due to destroyed infrastructure, but I doubt it will affect long-term AI adoption and tech dominance.
The democratization of the market, combined with another technological revolution arguably underway, makes me question comparisons to prior patterns.
FOMO DRIVES STOCK SURGE
Stocks are reaching new highs as investors pile in out of fear of missing out, Barclays says.
Strong momentum—led by U.S. and tech stocks—persists despite caution from oil and bond markets. While past geopolitical shocks boosted buying, Barclays warns markets may now be overly optimistic amid ongoing risks.
With many funds still underinvested, FOMO is keeping the rally alive.
@MichaelAArouet Plus, Poland has become extremely concentrated across a few major cities. Prices there are on par with Western Europe, but as soon as you step outside, you can buy a home for the price of a parking spot (that's an extreme example, though).
Part of this is cultural - real estate is the default investment for most Poles. You make a little bit of money and you buy a property - oftentimes an investment property before a primary residence.
People often don't consider stock markets a safe investment; and surprisingly, bonds are still a lesser-known concept. People are getting richer, but stock market participation skews toward younger investors with less capital. So property absorbs the bulk of it.
This is from Katharina Dalton's 1960s-70s work: 34 kids, no randomization, no blinding.
Lynch et al. (1978) tried to replicate it - found nothing. Meyer-Bahlburg (1979) reanalyzed it - results statistically insignificant. Simons et al. (2021) systematic review of 5 RCTs, 4,222 kids: zero cognitive benefit.
Dalton herself said there was NO advantage in physical education.
This overstates the very source it cites.
Codex in Xcode is the same Codex as the CLI, just a few releases behind. It uses a different config path, but you can symlink to your main one. This will overwrite the Xcode config, so back it up if you've customized it:
ln -sf ~/.codex/config.toml ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/CodingAssistant/codex/config.toml
@odd_joel To make sessions recoverable, I use zellij (tmux is also fine). Terminus supports startup snippets so I can attach to the previous session.
For transcription I use @raycast keyboard or @tryvoiceink.
I need to give Mosh a try - sounds really cool. Thanks!
