The dangerous escalation in southern Syrian comes at a time when Syrians are only just beginning to breathe again after more than a decade of conflict and destruction.

Hundreds of innocent lives were lost in recent days, and 10,000s displaced. Needs are high. Hospitals are overwhelmed, water has been cut, shops and pharmacies remain closed.

We need to be able to reach families in their hour of need alongside funding adapted to this ever-changing situation. Critically, families from all communities must be protected. Guarantees of protection and safety for all aren’t just a priority; they’re the foundation for any genuine, inclusive recovery.

Gaza has run out of fuel. Reserves are gone. The last drops are being rationed to keep bare-minimum services alive. No fuel means no water, no food distribution, no health care, no telecoms — 2.1 million lives on the brink.

This is no longer a logistical issue — it is life or death. NRC water trucking has dropped from 64 to just 33 sites, reaching 85,000 people with only 4.5 litres per person per day — barely enough to drink, far below the 15-litre survival standard. Half of these sites depend on the municipal water utility, which has fuel for just 10 days left — after that, their water stops completely.

Israel blocks all aid for starved women and children in Gaza funded by the US, Germany, the UK, the EU and Scandinavians. 

NRC alone has 34 trucks waiting endlessly to enter Gaza. 

The situation is utterly desperate.
We have fully exhausted our stock inside Gaza of critical items, such as tents for the homeless.  

We may soon be unable to even continue water trucking for the displaced.  We call for the immediate access of aid and restoration of basic services. 

It is a grave violation of international law to starve innocent children for political purposes.

The deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on 28 March has turned an already dire crisis into a catastrophe.

Almost 20 million in Myanmar were already in need of humanitarian assistance due to conflict. Now, 2 million more need urgent aid after buildings were flattened and over 3,600 lives lost.

Today, we who provide aid in the country appeal for $275 million to assist the 1.1 million people worst affected.

The people of Myanmar have suffered enough.
