49th in education spending. Arizona's kids and teachers deserve a lot better than that. Public schools here are already underfunded and school vouchers are making it worse. I’m fighting to protect public education, because students in Arizona and across the country deserve to have the same opportunities I did.
38 million deaths since 1971. “When you consider the scale of the violence and damages, it becomes clear that this system is not something we can continue to accept.”
Day 3 of Bolivia's general strike demanding the resignation of neoliberal President Rodrigo Paz.
All major highways blocked by protesters. An indigenous long march is heading to the capital, as it passes through each town and village more people join.
Reporter: “To what extent are Americans’ financial situations motivating you to make a deal? [with Iran]”
Trump: “Not even a little bit…. I don't think about Americans’ financial situation”
She was 12 years old.
Yesterday, an Israeli drone targeted her and her father in south Lebanon. The first strike killed her father. She survived. Terrified, wounded, she ran for her life.
Then another drone followed her.
And killed her too.
Damn the whole complicit world.
Absolutely shameful. Southern Lebanon is being hollowed out. Thousands of innocent civilians killed and homes destroyed. Over 1.2 million people displaced, which will cause another refugee crisis. Imagine if this happened to you or your loved ones. It’s completely inhumane.
For those who don't know.
Gaza now has the highest rate of children with amputated limbs in all of modern history.
Something you stand before with great sadness and shock,
not a passing news story.
At a divorce paper signing…
WOMAN: I regret ever joining that Star Wars dating app
MAN: You were looking for love in Alderaan places
WOMAN: And I really regret marrying a Star Wars pun addict
MAN: It was a wookie mistake
WOMAN: Just sign it
MAN, SIGNING: May divorce be with you
"In a single Arizona budget year, the Grand Canyon State is on track to spend over $1 billion on a school voucher program with little oversight—and at the same time has cut around 181,000 children off federal food assistance."

Israel has killed more journalists than any other nation in history.
More than the total number of journalists killed during the U.S. Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War combined.
"Between October 2023 and December 2025, more than 38,000 women and girls were killed in #Gaza, the result of Israeli air bombardment and land military operations.

A young Palestinian girl Masa in Masafer Yatta, in the southern West Bank, tells a passerby she is too scared to go to school because Israeli occupation army vehicles have moved into the area. When asked where she is headed instead, she says she wants to go to her father.
This the daily life in Masafer Yatta, a cluster of Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills that the Israeli occupation has designated "Firing Zone 918" for decades as a tool of ethnic cleansing. Just days ago, Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition and tear gas at a Palestinian shepherd in the area, while in March, Israeli occupation forces kidnapped three brothers after Israeli colonial terrorists attacked their homes. Occupation forces also demolished residential structures and a sheep barn in the area that same month. For the children of Masafer Yatta, the threat is not abstract, it is parked outside their school gates.

After Trump threatened “hell” on Iran’s infrastructure if they didn’t make a deal, Iranians flocked to form “human chains” around bridges and power plants across the country in a show of defiance.
Terrifying reality check. Al Jazeera confirms the US and Israel have bombed over 760 schools and 350 health centers in Iran. They are intentionally obliterating mental health hospitals and residential markets. The scale of these war crimes is absolutely sickening.
Avi Lewis on populism: "Right-wing populists imagine conspiracies of immigrants or Jews or a tiny class of puppeteers who control the world. Left-wing populists believe that capitalism concentrates wealth and power in the fewest hands. And we need policies and a response that actually responds to the needs of the 99% of us."
The idea that every sovereign country near Israel must cap its conventional weapons, limit its defensive capabilities, restrict missile and fighter jet ranges, and even dismantle its own military industries—just so Israel can "feel safe"—is completely absurd.
Which other nation on Earth demands and receives this kind of privilege?
This exceptionalism is especially ridiculous coming from a regime with such an inherently aggressive posture and track record in the region.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Iranian cinema but this is something else !
Never imagined that in the middle of a war, Iran would be producing high-quality, pro-level short films, directly taking on Donald Trump and Israel.
When Eisenhower was asked why the United States did not allow the 1956 Vietnamese reunification elections agreed upon at Geneva, he answered with unusual honesty.
He said that if elections were held, Hồ Chí Minh would win with approximately 80 percent of the vote.
So they cancelled the elections.
Think about that every time an American politician talks about "spreading democracy."
They cancelled the democratic election because the "wrong" person would win.
They then spent the next two decades killing people to prevent the government that would have been democratically elected from taking power.
And they called the other side anti-democratic.
This is not ancient history.
This is the logic that still governs every "democracy promotion" operation today.
Democracy is acceptable when it produces the "right" results.
When it does not, you cancel the election, back a coup, fund the opposition, impose sanctions, and call the government that the people actually chose a "dictatorship."
Vietnam exposed this logic completely.
Not with arguments.
With history.
With the receipts.
Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war. Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace.
I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution.
Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.
