Hey @AdamMGrant or anyone who has read Give and Take.
Trying to recall a study mentioned in the book. Where people were paid to create origami or similar. After a while, upon completing the task the origami was destroyed in front of them and then people stopped doing the work?

@mehlsbells@thomasjkehoe1@stuwillis@mclayfield 3! These family sitcom gags they put/leave in can almost ruin the show. But I’d say it’s not a writing problem, they need to let go of tropes like catch cries *grumbles* Roy Kent.
And Nate’s gradual hair going grey.. OMG! Nice evidence of inner turmoil but poorly executed.
@stuwillis My point is that the vaccine debate is a catalyst for deeper seated issues.
And that it’s worth looking into what they may be. Wasn’t trying to provide empirical evidence to denigrate the tax idea, rather trying to broaden the discussion beyond facts to acknowledge feelings.
@stuwillis Eg: Could argue that tradies have been harbouring animosity about the price of ciggis on every smoko break for years providing part of the fuel for the fire.
@stuwillis Interesting idea but given this debate is at the core about emotions related to fear, power and being controlled, I don’t think it would alleviate the animosity, maybe just kick the can down the road until the next social issue arises.
